Mr. Brooks Retirement Party

Rich and I headed to Atlanta this past weekend for Mr. Brooks Retirement Party! We had so much fun, but we missed our little Boo very very much! Thanks to my mom and Lauren for taking such great care of him! It was one of the most amazing parties I have ever attended. They had tents set up with different themes and a cuban cigar maker. That was only the beginning! Here are a few pictures from our weekend away!

One Month Check Up

My sweet little baby turned 1 month old on Friday, June 18. We went to the doctor today for his one month visit and got an excellent report. We got an exam, our 2nd Hep B shot, and a heel prick. He was not so excited about the shot and prick. I think this was the first time he has cried long enough to produce tears. I wish he was old enough for a lollipop!
Here are his stats:
Weight: 9 pounds 13 ounces, 50th percentile
Height: 21 3/8, 45th percentile
Head: 15, 45th percentile
He is already holding his head up and has been for a couple of weeks. He has the most amazing facial expressions, and smiles all the time. He is very alert, and loves to look/go outside. He is only upset when he is hungry or when he has gas. He is such a happy baby! He slept is his crib for the first time last night...I slept on the floor beside his crib. He sleeps the best on a big soft dog! I fall more in love with him every single day!

Happy Fathers Day!

Charlie and I were so excited to celebrate Fathers Day with Rich. We gave Rich his North Face rain jacket and cards the night before, because we knew we would be running behind the next morning. We woke up and headed to church for the first time since we had Charlie! We grabbed a seat on the back row, and Charlie slept the entire time. Then, we met the Hamricks for lunch at Red Lobster. We spent the rest of the day cooking drunk chickens, drinking beeritas, and celebrating! Rich is such an amazing father! Also, Happy Fathers Day to my sweet daddy, who means the world to me, and to Mr. Hamrick who treats me like a daughter of his own! I love you both very much!

Happy Anniversary!

On June 16, 2007, I married my best friend! We have so much fun together! It was truly the best decision I have ever made. He makes me feel honored, loved, and protected. He helps me grow spiritually! And recently, we were given the greatest gift of all, our beautiful baby boy! Our marriage is not perfect, but we love each other with all of our hearts. I am looking forward to sharing the rest of my life with him!

Why we need moms!

I don't think you can fully appreciate your mom until you become a mom yourself. I am very blessed to have a wonderful mom and a wonderful mother in law. I woke up on Tuesday with a fever, chills, and a breast infection. The moms came to the rescue like superman on a mission. Mrs. Hamrick spent the night and stayed up with Charlie. Her staying allowed me to sleep a full night in my bed and get some much needed rest! Then my mom came first thing the next morning. I can always count on her to hop in the car and head to Auburn the minute I call. She loves getting to spend time with Charlie! Thank you both for helping me recover! I could not have done it without you! Charlie and I are so lucky to have people in our lives that will drop everything to care for us! However, I do know that Charlie's smile keeps you running this way!

Three Weeks Today!

My baby is 3 weeks old today and where has the time gone. I am amazed at how much he has grown and changed in such a short period of time. He still has the sweetest disposition, and he only cries when he is hungry. He has actually started sleeping at night. The past two nights he slept for five and a half hours straight! I am one happy momma! The love I have for this precious child grows everyday!
