Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your path straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

The Nursery

Rich and I finally finished the nursery this weekend. After what seems like months of preparation, it is exactly what I dreamed of! So needless to say, I think it is perfect! Special thanks to my husband for being so patient as I barked assembly and painting instructions. I guess only women can understand why you would stripe a wall using the same color paint but with different finishes.

Opening the crib box (Special thanks to my mom for the beautiful crib!)

Special thanks to Mrs. Hamrick for all the sewing!

Then, Rich and I celebrated! We grilled steaks and enjoyed each others company on the back porch. We talked about the past three years and how much fun we have had, but now we are ready for a new chapter. Charlie, we are here waiting for you whenever you are ready!

A Weekend Recap!

Rich and I are here, in Auburn, until Charlie makes his big arrival. So we have decided to make the most of these last few weekends as a family of two. Here are a few pictures from the weekend!

Dinner with friends at the Chastains house on Friday night!

Alumni Tailgate at the Sig Ep house on Saturday before the A Day game!

Elizabeth (Reese's mom) and my Godson Reese!

Rich and I are so in love with this little man! Even at such a young age, he has made such a positive impact on our lives...and helped me get ready to have a son. I am so glad that Charlie will have such an amazing best friend! (On a side note: Reese is having adenoid surgery tomorrow morning, so keep him in your prayers!)

34 1/2 weeks and counting!

I am 34 1/2 weeks today! Here is a fun little survey that I stole off of someone elses blog!

Total Weight Gained/Lost – I am up a total of 10 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight.

Maternity Clothes – Of course I have to get dressed for work...but this is quickly becoming 6 outfits that I rotate, because my stomach is growing on a daily basis! The minute I walk in the door, it is pajama pants and Rich's t-shirt (they seem to be the only ones that fit comfortably!)

Sleep – Some nights are great and other's I toss and turn all night long. Guess that is just my body preparing me for 18 years of no sleep once the baby arrives.

Best Moment of the Week – Playing in the nursery...I finally took time to wash all his little clothes, put together the swing, and organize. I just have so much fun in his sweet little room.

Movement – Charlie is everywhere...and just when I think he is taking a halftime break...he starts right back up again. For the past couple of weeks, I can see little elbows, etc. protruding out of my body. I guess something can be a little weird and so cute at the same time!

Food Craving – I haven't had a lot of food cravings...mine are more smells. Like the lavendar laundry detergent that I can't get enough of or the white rain shower gel. It is really crazy!

Food aversions – Still hate Salmon!

Morning sickness – Luckily, my morning sickness went away at 4 months or in my case...night sickness.

Gender – A Boy.

Labor Signs – none at this point...which is a good thing!
Belly Button – It's kind of flat, but has a lip that sticks out on top.

What I miss – Being able to touch the floor. Being able to breathe, sometimes I feel like it is so hard to catch my breath. Now that it is spring, my white seven jeans. Normal clothes. Easily being able to shave my legs. An occasional glass of red wine after work. Just feeling in control of my body!

Milestones – This week, Charlie is supposed to weigh 5 pounds (like a cantaloupe) but I think he is a little smaller than that. He is about 18 inches long from head to heel. His CNS is maturing and his lungs are 99% ready.

Encouragement for a Wednesday afternoon!

"Everything in the heavens is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as being in control of everything. Riches and honor come from you alone, and you are the ruler of all mankind; your hand controls power and might, and it is at your discretion that men are made great and given strength."1 Chronicles 29:11-12

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
